Learning something NEW !

There is only about 40 minutes left untill our long weekend starts! And I mean long. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, you get to spend doing what ever you want. I am looking forwards to a great long weekend with my friends and family, but mostly friends! Although, this weekend can't be all fun fun fun, because a portion of it, I have to spend studying for the BTT test that will be taking place on Wednesday. As much as I want to leave it untill tuesday night, I have to study, because my marks depend on it! = But on the bright side, I have four days to spend how ever I'd like! Not to get too carried away, I still have to learn before I can have fun and go home. So here's everything Mr.Case will say in the next 30-45 minutes!! =]
FLA- flash project
FLV- flash video
SWF- Shock wave flash
Action script is a simply programming language. One of the biggest complaints for programmers is that its not that complex, therefore they couldn't make so many programs.
Time line is good for making videos.
Main space is called a stage. Make it 600x400 pixels, which is the most common.
When you are watching a video, you really see still pictures one after the other, very fast.
Movies have a slower frame rate, therefore it is different when you watch a movie in the movie theater.
You see 30 frames a second.
Videos on YouTube run 12 frames a second, which makes it more clear than if you see it on something else.
When you have a little box at the top, it means you have one frame[one picture in your video].
The amount of boxes shows you how many pictures you have.
If you want to add a video, you add a new layer, so you don't mess up your background.
Your top layer will automatically go to the right number of frames as the bottom layer.
Cue ball= a graphical image on the screen.
Grab your selection tool, and double click, and right click to turn it into a symbol. [graphic symbol]
The good thing about symbols is that it will have the same picture stored, but wont increase the size of your file.
When you make a symbol, it wont add much to the file size, because its using the image to make more of it.
In the old days, if you wanted to animate something, you would have to make it into a key frame. key frame= when something happens in an animation.
What flash does is gives you access to a tween. To make your life easier.
Tween= in between.
Insert key frame when something is going to happen.
Key frames- where things happen.
The more frames, the slower it will go.
For today, Mr.Case wants us to make a pool table, so that you can get used to this program a little and then next week, we will work on other things like animations and more.
Thats all for this week.
It's a long weekend, so everyone enjoy!
